How it all began

The internet has emerged from military research in the Cold War in the 1960s, when two ideological blocs and politically antagonistic exercised enormous control and influence in the world.
Any mechanism , any innovation , any new tool could help in this contest led by the Soviet Union and the United States : the two superpowers understood the absolute necessity and effectiveness of the media .
In that perspective the U.S. government feared an attack Russian military bases. An attack could bring public sensitive information, making the U.S. vulnerable, so a model was designed for exchanging and sharing information that would allow the decentralization of the same. So if the Pentagon was hit, the information stored there would not be lost.
It was necessary to create a network and with this idea and many research ARPANET was created by ARPA stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency in 1962 , coordinated by J. C. R. Licklider of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT ).
